Meet the Ugly Duckling and cocky Clod Hans in a new show for the whole family in which Andersen’s familiar, much-loved characters cast him into a challenging, unknown world! Brand-new technology combines the best of animation and theatre, enabling the characters to ask the audience for help.

We find Denmark’s most celebrated, best-loved poet mooching in solitude following his humiliation at the Royal Theatre. He always wanted to be a ballet dancer, but he can’t dance. On the other hand he can write, but who wants to listen to silly fairy tales about ugly ducklings turning into swans and clumsy lads who end up marrying princesses?
BagggårdTeatret has teamed up with the technical wizards from Rokoko to invite children and anyone else who delights in simple things to join the quest for wondrous dreams, self-esteem, and a whole new realm to boot.
